The best way to predict the future is to create it

The best way to predict the future is to create it.” —Abraham Lincoln

This is a favorite Lincoln quote of mine. After this past year, thinking we can create anything seems very remote. We create in so many ways. Among them are our thoughts and dreams. We all can make them.

CNN on Sunday nights has a show “Searching for Italy” with Stanley Tucci. The show has gotten my thoughts and dreams going. I so enjoy reminiscing of my past sojourns. I have experienced much of Italy. But not three regions: Sicily, the lake district and the Po River Valley. Years ago I planned to go to the Po River Valley, but went to Piedmont instead.

Now, I probably should no longer drive by myself in a foreign country. So what did I do? I went on line to check out the Italian rail service. And I started to create my future. Trains run between the small cities; Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, and Bologna and then connect with Florence! Or go north to Padua and Venice. What a journey this will be… the Valley has the best balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, prosciutto, soft wheat pasta and of course the beef!

Did you know the Valley fog creates these wonderful flavors? Food and art, and bit of shopping, what could make a better cool weather holiday. I am thinking October 2022. Who would like to join me?

If we start saving now, we could put together something special to look forward to!

Where would you like to know next? The world will open one day and we need to be prepared. Stay well.
