A couple days ago an article came across my desk, “Why are you a travel advisor?” And the article suggested I needed to tell everyone. I knew right away the answer. Then I asked myself, “what do I do to have the answer?” First of course I get people from point to point. Sometimes I need to be a bit creative, but mostly it is pretty basic, and many of you have learned to do the same. I may do it faster but often you can get yourself from point to point on the internet. (The biggest advantage for using me is when there is a situation along the way!) Secondly after you are at the point I may need to find you shelter. My knowledge and resources allow me to find you accommodations that meet your desires and needs, or hopefully exceed them. I then help you find things to do and see, places to eat, and make lots of reservations.
What I do best and like doing best is when you come to me and say “I want to go to Italy and see a city or two and then spend most of the time in the countryside.” Or “I want to go to Patagonia and hike.” I get to learn, create, design, and give you wonderful memories. It is the stories you tell me after you return that is why I am a travel adviser! Like hearing that the surprise birthday holiday was “more than a success.” The little inn over the tavern was “so much fun.” The family reunion was at “a perfect resort for all to gather and play.”
No two trips are ever the same. I may have a favorite little hotel in Paris that I use a lot or encourage everyone going to Rome to visit the Borghese Galleria. Even every trip to Chicago is different. I love what I do because I am constantly learning, creating, designing, sharing and helping you all experience what you want. It is your stories that get me up every day!
How may I help you with your next story?
