Time to Plan for 2012

The travel industry is like the fashion industry; always nine months ahead of the season. If you wait until winter to buy winter clothes you will have a limited selection, right? Well, the same is true with travel especially if you are looking to use frequent flyer miles for tickets. I have a family who are already ahead of the game with four tickets to Paris for next summer! Where would you like to go next year?

‘What is hot?’ I am often asked. For my clients, Italy was first with France not far behind. Of course Ireland remains very popular. I had eight families go to Italy with a wide variety of itineraries. Not only I am very knowledgeable about Italy, but I also have an excellent Italian tour operator who knows an abundance of local countryside places; castles, villas and agrituismos (farm houses) and private guides. The entire mood of traveling in the countryside is relaxing because the pace of life is much in tune with the sun.

Besides knowledge of a particular destination, I can also offer personal tours. For example, clients had a guide who said, “For now let us forget the Rafael’s and the museum, but go straight to the Chapel.” When they walked into the Sistine Chapel there were only a few people! What a great experience for them. They then returned to the beginning and saw everything. Since one can only exit via the Chapel, they realized then how special their first experience really was!

On another occasion, I had clients request a private guide and driver to see Pompeii and Herculean. They traveled for over two weeks and this became their favorite experience of all time.

Or perhaps you have dreamed of an event similar to additional clients of mine who had the best meal of their life in a castle in Tuscany!
