“F” Words in Travel

I’m actually not talking about the ones you say when the airline looses your luggage or you miss your connection…

It is amazing how few “F” words in travel there are, but they are some of the most wonderful “F” words.

Let’s start with the most important: Fun, Family and Friends… These are great “F” words to plan for a holiday or reunion. We always end up seeing friends and family at funerals, a not so happy “F” word, but how about booking a trip to together and have fun with family and friends for whom we do not spend enough time with. Plan a fun party or weekend function just because. You never need an excuse to visit these important people in your life.

There are also the fabulous Forty and Fifty birthday parties! Plan one for your best friend or as I did for my children. A time away can be lots of fun! These events will certainly be treasured and talked about for years to come. Keep it a secret. Think about throwing a 39th or 49th party knowing you may not be able to surprise them for the real one!

My favorite “F” words are Florence, France, Fiji, and French Polynesia. Of course there are also Finland, French Guiana, Florida, and the Falkland Islands. Lot of great “F” words in travel!. Which one will you choose for your next holiday? Probably Florence for me, it has been 5 years and I am yearning to return.

One more section of “F” words in travel are fantastic resorts and hotels of the Four Seasons and Fairmont. Almost all of them are Virtuoso properties. Some of my clients just returned for Tahiti, French Polynesia, and stayed at the Four Season Bora Bora. They could not imagine better service. For example, when they arrived at the airport the Four Seasons person just walked up to them, called them by name. No name tags. They just knew, but how? Well, that is fabulous service!
