We all have a favorite season. What is your favorite? A season becomes a favorite, sometimes by the events we can do during that time. For example, fall equates to football games and winter to skiing. Or we may be attracted to the energy of the season; spring is happy and new whereas summer is calm and warm. I am glad I live in a four season climate, though winter is very long and spring is very short! But we still have them. My family in Seattle hardly has a winter or a summer as it tends to stay temperate all year. While my family in Georgia has a very warm and long summer! And for both areas, snow is a showstopper!
Of all the seasons, fall is my favorite. For me the New England fall foliage colors are a celebration of life. The maple, birch, and the oak trees dress up in their favorite colors to celebrate the year’s past. They host the grandest party before the cold settings arrive. Fall is one of the busiest times of year for New England. To come and celebrate this season, consider making reservations now.
One more comment regarding how we like our seasons. Many of us like to trick our minds and spirits into being in another season. We love to pretend it is warm when it is very cold and dark outside. This is the joy an AlwaysHarriet Caribbean or Hawaiian holiday can bring you and your family. Some like to plan for that escape well into the winter darkness. I like to go early in December and so the warm sunlight carries me well into March. Then the winter is almost over and the days are just starting to get longer.
This year I am going to Cape Town, South Africa to visit my friends where it will be warm and sunny. It has been 10 years since I was there and about time I go.
Where are you going to go? Remember in planning your season escape; do so a couple seasons in advance. It is never too early to plan for the December and February holidays.
